Trips

This spring our AVMS instrumental groups will be performing at the Festival of Music in the Carowinds Amusement Park. This performance is a judged event and students will come away with feedback from a panel of veteran music directors. We are excited to represent Apple Valley at this festival on Thursday April 30, 2026!

Important information:

• Bus departs at 8:30 am from Apple Valley on Thursday, April 30, 2026 

• Bus returns at 7:00 pm to Apple Valley. Parents must pick up their student promptly when we arrive back at AVMS. Parents will receive a text when the bus is 30 minutes out.

• The cost of the trip is $100. This can be paid to AVMS in monthly installments, or in full by February 2nd, 2026. Cash, check, and online payment is accepted. 

  • 1st payment is due February 2 - $35

  • 2nd payment is due February 23 -  $35

  • 3rd payment is due March 16 - $30

• The pricing for our trip includes:

  • All-Day Ticket to the park that is a private day just for school groups & chaperones/directors

  • Festival concert (judges panel with rating)

  • Meal voucher with entree, side, drink, and snack

  • T-shirt

Students who receive any OSS (Out-of-School Suspension), or more than two  days of ISS (In School Suspension), between January 5-April 30 will NOT be allowed on the field trip. 

What participating students should wear/bring:

• Cash or card for gift shop or additional food. Carowinds is cashless but students can use a Cash to Card kiosk to convert cash into a prepaid debit card they can use in the park. 

• Wear closed toe shoes.

• Wear black bottoms with the band/orchestra t-shirt. 

• Snacks and water bottle for the bus.
