Honor Bands

All-County

The 2025 All-County Band auditions will be held beginning at 4:15pm on Nov. 6, 2025 at Hendersonville High School.  Auditions are open to all HCPS middle school band members. 

The audition requirements will be found in Google Classroom and at the front of the room. Students will prepare a solo excerpt, scales, and sight reading. 

The All-County Band Clinic will be held December 1-2, 2025 at Blue Ridge Community College.  Students will receive all the information for the clinic if they are selected for the band.

All-District

NC Western District Honor Band auditions will be held on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026 at Tuscola HS in Waynesville.  Students are to prepare the following for their audition that will be posted into Google classroom:

All 6 major scales and the chromatic scale.  Scales should be performed in the appropriate octaves according to the scale sheet. (Scale sheets can be downloaded and printed here).

Solo - The audition solo can be downloaded in Google Classroom and is found at the front of the room.

Sight reading - Students will have 1 minute to read over a short selection.  They will then perform the selection.

The clinic will be held at Western Carolina University on February 6-7. (Students must be selected for the honor band to attend.)

AVMS students may register in Google Classroom to audition for the All-District Band.  There is a $15 audition fee for the All-District Band.
